When trying to Upload photos to a gallery_Unable to find the Exif PHP module. This module is required to upload images

Backlight 4 had been working fine. I updated to the newest Backlight and modules
and I don’t know if this is a Backlight 4 error or something my
website host did with their PHP. I did just try reinstalling all: within Backlight admin.

I’m getting an orange error in Backlight 4
Unable to find the Exif PHP module. This module is required to upload images.

Backlight’s “View PHP Info” says: PHP Version 8.0.16
and Backlight’s “Installed PHP Modules: show two modules that are in bold (I guess, that means something)
sqlite3 and pdo_sqlite

I’m able to create a New Gallery and use text and it only throws the error
when I’m at the point of: “Add Photos”

Here’s my TTG website:

Hi, Rod. I’m on Epik and was getting this error trying to use PHP Version 8.0.16 and all the new Backlight installs. I did a “Backlight → reinstall all” but that did not fix the error. But the PHP Exif module error goes away when I revert my server back to PHP 7.4 so it has to be that my server is missing the PHP Exif module and I did not see it as an an option after logging into cPanel (Epik Domains is the host.)

It’s not an immediate issue for me, now. But I’m happy to try anything if you want me to do some testing and report back. You’re always helpful, Rod and your efforts are brilliant at times.

It might just be a matter of asking your host to install or turn the module on.

Gary, that’s something to take up with your host.
