Backlight 4 Template Recovery

While trying to update/upgrade my website I inadvertently deleted my personal Backlight 4 templates and deleted Backlight Publisher. I reinstalled Backlight but all of my personal tempales are gone. Any way to recover them?
Thanks in Advance

Did you delete the /backlight directory as well?

Daniel, I’m not sure. On my host (BlueHost) website I downloaded under public_html/ both the backlight/ and galleries/ to my PC and then deleted everything else under the public_html from my host. The galleries/ and images are fine. I could not make any sense out of the backlight/ files that I downloaded and was looking for my or any templates. I then downloaded and installed the last backlight installer I had from TTG and got the Backlight Admin page up and running. I have since started on a whole new design using the stock TTG Templates but all my personal ones are gone. I may be out of luck. Any thoughts?

I believe templates (along with most everything else) are stored in the database (databases are stored in the data folder). Do you still have a backup copy?

Rod, are you referring to the data file under public_html/backlight on my host? I have looked at them but was not quite sure what I was looking at. I have started new website as of this morning, but I did download the previous/old. If that’s where they’re at I assume I could just upload that data file to my host?

It looks like you did download the entire backlight directory to your computer. Great! I would rename then one on your server and upload the backlight directory to your server again. Then go to backlight > admin > backlight modules to upgrade/install all modules. If you don’t see any new modules, go to backlight/installer to enter your purchase credentials and then go to the backlight modules page.

Daniel and Rod. Thank You! I’ll give that a try when I get a chance tonight.

What Daniel said.

Even if you only restore the old data momentarily, go into the templates list and export any templates you’d like to keep. You should then be able to re-import them into Backlight, even if you end up reseting the site.

Thank you, Matthew. I think I finally got it all sorted out. I decided to start fresh and clear out some bugs I may have had. I started with all new templates. Good reference for next time though in anticipation of BL5!
