I know that selecting sort order „Managed by Lightroom“ does not work as expected.
So I wanted to use BL to sort the images. I have 108 Images in an album. When I try to move an image to a position that is not visible in the actual windows (I would have to scroll to the position) it is not possible.
When I drag the selected image to the top or the bottom of the window I would expect the content to scroll down or up to the desired position. But it doesn’t. Is this option not possible or am I doing something wrong?
You can control image order in Lightroom by dragging the images where you want them to be in the album. Then right-click on one of the images you’ve moved and republish that image.
I’m able to move photos further up the screen in Safari on my Mac. Two ways:
With a trackpad: click on the image with a finger on one hand and drag it. When I need to scroll further up the set of images, use two fingers on my other hand to scroll, while still clicking/dragging the image.
With a mouse: click and drag on the image with the left button. When I need to scroll further, use the mouse wheel while still clicking/dragging the image.
With Windows I need to click and drag as far as the window will go (the mousewheel doesn’t scroll the window while left-clicking) and then drop it at the top. Scroll until it’s at the bottom again and repeat.
Not a big deal for me since I still use Lightroom to publish and I can reorder there.
Hi @schweidj, I wonder if our settings are different or if we’re using the trackpad differently. I have Mission Control set to three fingers, but I can still move images without triggering Mission Control. I do have “Use trackpad for dragging” (Under Settings > Accessibility > Trackpad Options) enabled, but I can’t see any different when disabling it.
I’ve been navigating almost solely with a trackpad for 15 years, so do things automatically.
it’s confusing. Now it works even when setting Mission Control to three fingers… Maybe it’s my inability to keep the the other fingers far enough from the trackpad.
