Can I downgrade BL and CRG? PHP issues

Hello, I’m having serious issues posting Client Response Galleries via LR. Errors every time. Current PHP set to 7.3, the only higher version my host has is 7.4 which doesn’t work at all with BL6 it seems.

Can I revert back to a version of BL and CRG that work well with LR?

Are you using the latest version of the TTG Publisher Loghtroom plug-in?

Hi Rod,
Yes, I’m currently using the newest version of both.

Any idear why I’m having issues? Let me know what info I can provide, of course. This is crippling my client communication right toward the end of my busy season…
Thanks!

@Ben will need to take a look.

Hi @parteephoto, the error message looks like a connectivity issue rather than incompatibility with PHP. Backlight 6 is compatible with both 7.3 and 7.4.
What were you trying to do when you saw that message?

Can you check that the protocol and URL in the API URL is identical to that on your website? (i.e. http vs https, inclusion or exclusion of www.)

Hi Ben,
I get that message whenever I try to edit an existing gallery or create a new one. Sometimes with a long delay; like it seems like nothing is happening, so I try it again… then 5 minutes later I get a stack of those identical error messages.

And yes it looks like the API URL in LR publish manager is identical to my subdomain address I’m using.

Thanks, @parteephoto. I can see that the API URL loads correctly.

Are there any available updates on the Backlight Modules page?
Are you running any firewall that could be blocking requests? Do you have an option to try another network (e.g. by tethering to your mobile phone)?

Hi Ben,
All modules are up to date. No firewalls. I’ll try from my home computer, but there haven’t been any network changes.

Hi @parteephoto, I’d need to have a look at the site itself to see where the issue could be. It is likely something network-related, whether on your end or on the host. Would you be able to provide me with a Backlight admin login and preferably FTP access so that I can look further into this? The best way to do so is by clicking on my username followed by ‘Message’.

As this is urgent for you, I suggest uploading photos via Backlight’s Publisher, by logging into the admin page, navigating to the album and adding photos there. You’d need to export a set of images to use from Lightroom. Choose the highest resolution and quality that you’d expect in the album. Any smaller resolutions, such as for thumbnails, will be created from these.

Thanks, @Ben , I sent you that login info.

Thanks, @parteephoto. Can I create a hidden test album for debugging?

Of course yeah. Test away, I really appreciate it.
