Can I/how can I use different languages in the Cart add on?

Have you already added the language you need in Backlight. > Admin > Settings > Languages and made it the Default language?
After that’s been created, in Backlight go to Cart > Settings > Languages, click on Manage language for your language and fill out the entries.
In your page template, under Top Pallet, make sure that Language Selector is enabled.

Ok - and what about the articles and their description? How can I add multiple descriptions to them like German / English ?
you can try using the multi-language html in your photo captions and titles. I’ve not tried it though.
How would that be done? Am a little bit lost at the moment to be honest.
If I’m understanding “articles and descriptions” to mean the metadata fields for the images (like Title and Description), you could try writing the metadata in Lightroom using the method described in the Multi-language documentation linked to above.
I’ve not tried this, though. And I imagine adding the necessary language related html to metadata fields might have an effect on SEO.
