I have an album set in my galleries that I have locked. I’m trying to put a cover image on that album set and can’t seem to be able to figure it out. It just shows a blank cover image with a little icon on it. I’ve tried it through Lightroom. I’ve also gone to publisher and selected a cover image from an uploaded custom photo thinking that maybe because the album set was locked that it wouldn’t show a photo from any of the albums. When that didn’t work, I unlocked the album set which then showed the cover image and then started locking the albums in the set. But then they all showed a blank cover image with a small icon on it. Any thoughts?
In Backlight’s Settings, Privacy section, see the first item, “Protect Cover Images for Password-protected Albums”. I believe that should sort you out.
Thanks Matthew. I am on BLfive and I can’t seem to find that in the privacy section. Is that on a later edition? When I’m on the edit top level set for the galleries page my only options for privacy are visibility: public or protected. And then ‘enable login to view protected photos’.
It’s in Backlight’s main “Settings” page in the admin, not in the publisher’s privacy section. I can’t remember when we added that, but if you don’t see it there, then it might have been added in B6. Anyway, check the proper location.
In Backlight’s admin, open the Admin menu, then Settings => List Settings. Scroll down to the Privacy section, and it should be the first item.
There it is. I turned it off and all is well.
