Duplicate images

I have been tidying up my albums in the hope it will fix an inconstancy of images. In one album Lightroom says there are 137 images yet Backlight has 147 images in the album. The album has been in use for some years going back to V4 (maybe even earlier).

How can i fix these extra images, as the album is all managed by Lightroom. Except for a couple of duplicates I do not know which are the offending image.

The only solution I can think of involves deleting all images in lightroom then seeing what images are left over and manually removing then form the database and image folders. Is there a better way?

Did you ever use Backlight Publisher to upload images to this album?

You can delete images from Backlight Publisher, even if they were uploaded with Lightroom Publisher.

Your idea might be the quickest way to find the extra images. Just put all the images in the album into a collection so you don’t have to reassemble the album from scratch after you remove the images in the album in Lightroom.

Thanks thats exactly what I did i found another 5 albums that had residual images. So i created temporary catalogues with the images in then deleted the images and found what you said in publisher and deleted them, I assumed (a usual mistake) that I could not delete them in publisher as they came from lightroom. Then put them back and republished. Fiddly but did not take to long.
