In Lightroom’s Publish Services panel, I right-click the TTG Publisher and select “Create Album…”
When I enter text to
Name your album.
or make any other changes to the Create Album page I get “Error performing function (Code 403).”
Please advise.
Hi @pshilling, 403 could be either returned by Backlight’s Publisher or by your web server. Is there any error message after what you’ve provided or is the entire message “Error performing function (Code 403)”?
Can you share your API URL and a Backlight admin login via direct message so that I can look further into this?
The URL is correct, the API is correct and I have read/write/execute permissions on all relevant folders
except for .htaccess where I have read/execute and will not let me add execute permissions. Says folder does not exist when I try to add execute permissions. I made this file visible before moving to the server via FTP.
Not sure what else to check.
Update- I gave all folders and files that I uploaded from backlight read/write/execute permissions for owner, group and other and I still get the 403 error.
Please advise.
@pshilling, please see my earlier reply. Further from that if you could provide FTP access, or better, SSH access, then that would be helpful in trying to work out the problem.
Get another message right after 403 error message “Template has not been selected”
“Can you share your API URL and a Backlight admin login via direct message so that I can look further into this?”
How would I set up direct message or provide FTP or SSH access? This is getting way too complicated.
Hi @pshilling, thanks for the Backlight login. I can see the 403 in LR when trying to authenticate to your server, but have no way of telling where it’s being raised. It’s either by your web host or by somewhere in Backlight. I can try and confirm whether it’s Backlight if you can provide me with FTP access.
Interestingly, when I copy the authentication URL that LR submits before getting the 403 and put it into a browser, it succeeds without issue. This leads me to think it could be being blocked by a security mechanism on your host. As above, I’ll at least be able to narrow it down if you can provide me with FTP access.
