Failing to install

I’m getting a 404 when trying to access mydomain.tld/backlight or mydomain.tld/backlight/installer

I did RTFM. This is a new install of BL6. I’m installing on a cPanel, I’m using the File Manager and rather than FTP just uploading directly. I’m including the .htaccess, I can see everything uploaded into mydomain/public_html.

All the permissions show as 0664, which is the only thing that jumps to mind.

On the other hand; looking at the unzipped download on my Mac /backlight and /galleries are directories but on my webserver they’ve become text files. So FTP is obligatory? Unless I want to recreate each sub directory.

the backlight/ folder contains necessary files. I suggest using ftp to upload

Thanks @rod_barbee, it’s been a while since I had to FTP a website. Cyberduck did the trick with cPanel even configuring the settings.
