Full-screen landing page not behaving as I would like

I’m developing a new site in BL4, and testing on a site I don’t use (www.doricportraits.com), and I am trying to create a full-screen home page so the visitor can be immersed in the images upon arrival. However, I’m struggling to make something that works well on both a vertical phone screen and a horizontal desktop 16:9 monitor. I’m using the Theater add-on Vegas Slideshow for the home page. The scaling is a little wacky with the vertical images getting chopped off top/bottom on the desktop monitor, and of course, vice versa. Maybe I was hoping for too much, but I see that Eckart Bartnik (https://www.eckart-bartnik.com/home) has achieved something similar to what I want, and even though his images don’t fill the whole screen, the scaling is more intuitive (2-dimensional), whereas my images only seem to scale in one dimension… Any assistance appreciated - I’ve been at this stumbling block for too long, and it’s time I got this site up!

Look at the image scaling options. Sounds like you might be using “Cover.” Try “Fit”

That helped, but unlike Bartnik’s screen, it doesn’t cover the whole page. He must be doing something different, or maybe he’s not using the Vegas slideshow.

I wonder if I also have to change an Image rendition setting (I’m not quite sure what these do!)

It doesn’t appear to be a Backlight based page. Looks like it’s a Wix based site.

They set the size of the image exported by Lightroom Publisher. or, if using Backlight Publisher, it sets the sizes Backlight creates from the images you upload.

Also, in the Vegas template are you using “inline” or “Full screen”?

Full-screen. What would Inline do? I should really RTFM, sorry.

I did wonder. I see references to Wix in his code, so maybe he moved on from BL. I will play with the settings for Vegas, and try out Galleria. Thanks for the pointers!
