How to remove album from Select Album menu

I am on Backlight 5. And have a simple problem. A gallery that doesn’t exist in my Galleries page continues to appear in the Select Album menu. How do I get rid of it?

Can you not delete the album from Backlight Publisher?

It doesn’t appear in Backlight Publisher, only in the Select Albums menu.

Hi @erudolph, there may be something stuck in the database. Can you provide me with a Backlight admin login and details of which album this is? I can then look into it and try to fix it in the database, if there.

The best way to do so is by clicking on my forum name followed by ‘Message’.

Hi @erudolph, thanks for the access. I can’t see the gallery in the database. What do you mean by the “Select Album” menu set? Which page or function on the Backlight admin are you seeing it?

When I go to this url: Galleries - Ed Rudolph... San Francisco there are two buttons at the top of the window. One is a Home button, the other button is called Select Album and clicking it opens a pull down menu of all the galleries. The top item in this pull down menu is “SL3 Shots” which will take you to an error 404 page, because that gallery doesn’t exist. I don’t know how to get rid of that pulldown item.

Hi @erudolph is this a gallery that recently existed?

I cleared the template cache and it’s no longer showing.

Thanks Ben! This SL3 album was deleted about a year ago. Is clearing the template cache something I could have done myself?

Yes. You’ll find it on your Backlight Special Links page
(Admin>Special Links)
as well as in the Designer sub-menu

Thanks Rod. Much obliged!

Hi @erudolph, further from Rod’s reply, while it’s something you can do yourself, you probably shouldn’t have to. Quite a few actions in the Backlight admin cause the template cache to be cleared automatically. I’ll look into triggering this when albums are added and deleted.

Thanks, Ben!
