Kookaburra Blog Styling

I’m experimenting with a Kookaburra Blog template. Created the templated. Created a blog. Added a couple dummy test posts.

I’m struggling to figure out what I need to edit to significantly reduce the giant space between the blog tile/description and the first post. I’m confident there’s a way to do it, but I’m not landing on the right edit solution. Even putting a Hero Image in there still resulted in a fairly large gap (and I was even having trouble how to control the size of the Hero image.)

can you share a link to the page?

My apologies, Rod. Forgot to paste it in

That’s the Hero image that occupies this empty space.

Thank you Daniel. I had initially put a Hero image there but it was so big (I’m sure there’s a way to control the Hero image size) so I removed it. I checked and I still had Hero image on. I turned it. Refreshed. But still a huge gap. So I’m sure I just need to in a bit further on how to control that space. Certain it’s a user error issue. I’ll keep digging.

have you tried changing the size/coverage setting under Post Hero Image?

I changed it to none so don’t currently see this option. If I go to fixed I can change, but I would have assumed saying none would have eliminated the space where a hero image would have been all together.

@Matthew will probably need to take a look as to why that space is still showing up. There’s a div with the class “hero-image” showing in the html. It can be hidden with some custom css:

.child-posts .hero-image{
display: none;
}

I think you’re just looking in the wrong place. See the section “Child Post Hero Images”, and setting:

Preserve space if empty
If the post is missing a hero image, the aspect ratio will be honored with background-color.

That was it exactly! Thank you, Matthew.
