Kookaburra Running Head and Header Use cases

I might be being a bit dull here but can anyone point me at some use cases for populating both the Running Head and Header sections in a Kookaburra page template?
I’m wondering as to how best to use the Header section. In my test environment I’ve added what was in a Tagline in Pangolin but I’m clutching at straws as to the best use of the section of a page.
Thanks

I look at the running head as similar, or the same, as the top pallet in Pangolin.

On my main site (Pangolin based), I have the masthead in the header and I’ve put the navigation in the top pallet. This keeps the navigation at the top of the page at all times.

I can do the same in Kookaburra. So that’s one example of using both the header and running head in Kookaburra

Thanks Rod,
I suppose that is more or less what I have done, more by accident than design.

Rod’s nailed it.

The running head is equivalent to Pangolin’s top-pallet.

The header is equivalent to Pangolin’s masthead.

But the gist of it is that the running head remains on-screen as you scroll, so put things there that you want to be sticky. Putting the title into the running head is good for super minimalist designs, where you might not be using the header.

The header can be used for branding, so can be your logo, or a big graphic, an establishing image, etc.

Another use case might be, if you’re designing an event page, to put your site title into the running head, and then use the header for an event graphic (think poster).

Of course, with the new essay features now available, there’s maybe less reason to use the header for something like that. But hey, options.
