I’d like to use the LrC plugin, a couple of points I’m not clear about…
I have a site set up with a top level Album Set which contain a couple of other Album Sets each which contain Albums.
How do I upload directly to the correct Album Set (and into the correct Album)? I tried uploading a new album to my top level Album Set “Photos” but ended up with a new top level Album Set “Galleries”. I see how to fix that but do I need to change the top level Album Set every time I upload? Or do I need to create additional publishers, one for each Album Set?
Also, where do I set the file size I want to upload. Some Albums will need 1920px files for example, others full size.
The LR Publisher plug-in can only upload images to albums that were created in Lightroom Publisher.
If your album sets and albums were created in Backlight Publisher, you can’t use the Lightroom Publisher to add images to them.
“Galleries” is the default top-level album used by Lightroom Publisher. You can change that in the Publisher settings under Other Publisher Options > Top-level sets directory
That should be set in the Album template(s). For images displayed in the album, the setting is under Image Renditions. For Downloads, set that in Advanced Setup > Downloads.
If it’s for purchased downloads, then set it in the Add-on Features > Cart Features > Generate Photos for Purchase.
So I can see how to change that, what I’m failing to do is to upload a new Album into an Album Set - for example - “Personal Photo Album”. I want to end up with
Photos → Personal Photos-> Personal Photos Album
Photos and Personal Photos are Album Sets. I tried changing the Other Publisher Options > Top-level sets directory to photos/Personal Photos which failed. Perhaps due to the space in the Album Set name. I’ve ended up with two Top Level Sets both named “Photos”. One contains my new Album which has been placed in photos/Personal-Photos (a directory) so the full path appears to be photos/Personal-Photos/Personal Photo Album.
Slightly confusing perhaps not helped by my wanting a space in the Album Set name.
So I need to create all my Album Sets using LrC.
Re file size
I haven’t currently allowed any downloads so don’t have that option. For some Albums I may want to allow downloads, for others I will not. So for at least some Albums I will have no control over the upload file size?
If you’ve initially create the Personal Photos set and Personal Photo Album in Backlight Publisher, then you won’t be able to use either with Lightroom Publiser.
With Lightroom Publisher, create an album set. This set will be placed in the top-level directory.
To upload an album into the set with Lightroom Publisher, create an album in the set in Lightroom.
I don’t know if you can set a path to a top-level set But it could be due to spaces. Folder and file names should only contain letters, numbers, dashes, or underscores. You can change the displayed names in the top-level set settings, but the folder name and the url to it cannot contain spaces.
