Lost published album

I switched from Windows to a mac. Installed Lightroom and after that installed the publisher service. I had two album collections published. One surfaced after installing the plugin. The other is gone. Everything I published is still on my site. However after connecting all the published information (album sets, albums) was gone from Lightroom for this service.

How do I connect and get my source data back from the server?

are you using the same catalog on the Mac as you used on Windows?
I’m assuming both albums were published from Lightroom?

As far as I know, there is no way to get the data from the server into Lightroom.

I had a special disk only for lightroom. Catalog, and everything with it pictures in directories etc. I copied that as a whole to the new PC. But it was offcourse a new Lightroom installation. Settings and most plugins not included. So I downloaded and installed the publisher plugin. Saw only one published set. The other was still visible on my windows PC. But got deleted later…

I might have a backup with all datya somewhere. But I have to know where the publisher data like album sets, templates etc resides.

All I know is that the Publisher data is part of the catalog data.
@Ben might know what part of the database to look at.

If it’s just one album, it may be faster (and safer) to just recreate the Publisher collection in Lightroom.

No it is not one album. It is a hierarchy of sometimes 4 layers, different templates and lots of text and tricks to get an image on top.

In fact is is most of my site. Thats wy I kepot the old windows version. But since I installed the plugin the albums are also gone there

This may not have anything to do with it (I think it’s a catalog issue), but which version of the Publisher plugin are you using?

Here’s another idea that may help: reset Lightroom preferences. This can fix all sorts of weird problems.

I downloaded the latest from backlight online. When I reset the plugin is gone. From one publisher service set I can still see the albums (5) that are under the publish server. From the other the albums are not there. I reinstalled the plugin and one works the other one is empty. It says not saved, even if I save it (no error message).

But the Publisher service is still there, correct?

Did you try resetting Lightroom preferences?

The LR catalogue is itself a SQLite database. You may be able to garner some info by looking at backups of the catalogue but the structure is quite cryptic. I haven’t looked at one in a while in order to advise where or how the album set structure is stored.

I did try to reset the preferences. I store everything in the catalog instead of in the application.

The publisher service in Lightroom says ‘not saved’. That is strange because I edited and saved it several times. The authentication also is correct.

I lost 93 albums and 6 album sets.

But I should look in the LR database. That is a start

If you need help with that, you might find more information on a Lightroom specific forum like this:

Thxs. I know that forum. Could not find much.

I restored an older version. From a day before I switched to the mac. Figured out the changes I made and reinstalled some plugfins.

So I have my albums back.

But. They can be different from the ones on my site. Republishing does not seem to delete pictures, only add and change…
