Publishing has always been very fast ( minutes for an album ) until a few months ago and now takes many many hours. It is not ‘a little slow’ - it is ‘something-is-wrong-slow’. Not sure what change I made causes this. I think I did upgrade backlight and plugin a few months ago but can’t remember if that was before or after it got slow.
Troubleshooting done:
– Backlight versions: current - updated again today
– Backlight plugin: still current
– Export photos to disk to check lightroom export: runs fast
– Changed network from ISP to Phone Hotspot : no improvement
– Called Bluehost and asked them to check health on their side: they say all healthy, low resource utilization, restarted background processes
– checked resource utilization on my side during ‘publishing’: - all low. Network near 0%.
Appreciate a point in the right direction as to what to do/check next. - thkx
thanks Rob- I tried method-3 and set aside the file Lightroom Classic CC 7 Preferences.agprefs, and restarted. A new file was created and I did not notice many preferences change and wonder if it downloaded a preference copy from somewhere when it restarted. Anyway, it did not increase performance. I may try one of the other preference reset methods tomorrow, unless any further suggestion. Are there any log files that I should examine for errors or retry s ?
There are log files. I believe they’re found at /backlight/data/publisher/logs.
They should show any errors, but I don’t know how to interpret them. @Ben would be the one to help with that.
