Publishing in Backlight 3

I just published a few test albums using Backlight 3 i.e. opening BL3>Publishing>create album, etc. Everything worked well with one exception. When I try to navigate back to the Galleries tab on my site from a published gallery (either old or the test albums) I get "Paradox 404!
You’ve found a page that does not exist. " If you want to see for yourself, here’s my site: http://www.martinjenichphotography.com/

the /galleries folder on your site should include an index.php file. Does it?

Martin, it looks like you have a space after the name of the folder: "galleries "
http://www.martinjenichphotography.com/galleries%20/

Edit the top level gallery to remove that space.

For matt…I found a file entitled index.php under galleries. It indicated it was accessed today.

For rod… i went to edit the top level galleries. I found only two references for galleries in base settings. I tried to eliminate a space. There were no spaces. And the problem persists. Am I in the correct place?

I think Rod was suggesting you edit the ‘slug’ for the album set. In the Publisher area, edit the Galleries settings.

You might also go into Designer => Menu, and make sure your Galleries menu item is set correctly.

I am able to reach your Galleries page using this address:

So Rod seems to be on the right track. We just need to figure out where that space is coming from (probably the ‘slug’ in the Galleries settings).

Try going to Publisher and clicking on “Galleries”
Then click on Edit Properties
Under Base Settings, look to the Top-level Gallery Directory

Got it. Boy do you have an eye for detail! Thank you.

I uploaded another album and looked at it on my computer as well as phone and everything looks great. You guys have done a wonderful job. Even I can figure it out. I’ve corresponded with Matt and I’ll be leaving lightroom and trying capture one.

BTW- I assume there’s no problem deleting albums in BL is there? I ask because I seem to remember a few years ago that you cautioned against deleting albums in BL for some reason. Any cautions I should know about?

We cautioned against deleting Lightroom-managed albums outside of Lightroom, because then Lightroom wouldn’t know about it. That advice stands.

There’s no issue deleting albums within Backlight.
