Hey Guys,
How do you rename a top level Gallery Page?
The goal is to make a Client gallery unavailable to them (after a certain due date) but to keep the album online in case I want to change and reload it later. The idea being, to be able to change a gallery without having to completely re-do it from scratch.
So currently, I load my galleries from Lightroom Classic. I create the Top level Gallery and then add Albums within. It’s quick and easy to change the Album name from within Lightroom using the ‘Album Edit’ box by simply changing the ‘slug’, and re-title it there.
But If I want to change the ‘Top Level Gallery Page’ from the ‘Lightroom Publishing Manager’, using the TTG Dialog box, it doesn’t seem to like that. If I change for example, the ‘Top Level Sets Directory’ title, I get error boxes when trying to republish.
What wold be the recommended way to go about this?
Try renaming/re-assigning slug for the top-level set in Backlight Publisher as well.
In Backlight Publisher, click on the name of the top-level set
Then click on the Edit top-level set button
Click on Base Settings
You can then change the Title and the Top-level Set Directory
Hey Rod,
So, make the change from the actual ‘Backlight Publisher’ and not from ‘Lightroom/TTG Publisher’? Usually, if I load galleries from Lightroom, I’m supposed to make changes from there too, or I get warnings from Backlight Publisher (“You should make changes from within Lightroom”).
OK, just tried it and its not working as intended.
The site page simply changed the title of the page.
Previously it was: LHS Galleries
I added a lower case x, so now it reads: xLHS Galleires
But the actual url is the same as it is in Lightroom/TTG Publisher.
https://solarviewstudios.art/lhs-galleries/
The idea is that if I quickly add extra characters to the url then the client won’t be able to see it anymore, which is the intent. I want the link I previously sent them to be offline. But if a client request for it to be back online for a brief period I can just remove the extra characters and allow them access.
OK, got it working as intended. Changing the name from the location you suggested did work. But it killed the connection to the Lightroom gallery. So Lightroom/TTG Publisher does not see the online/renamed Top Level Directory page. Which is fine. I was hoping that was something that you could do from within Lightroom since I do everything else there.
If you have a suggestion on that, would love to hear it.
Thx, Rod.

Did you adjust the top-level location in the Lr Publisher settings?
As @Daniel suggested. The top-level sets directory in LIghtroom Publisher should be the same as what’s set in Backlight Publisher
