Search results question

I was messing around with the search function this morning, and I have a question.

I put in a search and got back 8 images that are in 3 different albums. Is there a way to make those results function more like an album? The main thing I noticed was that if I tried to use the previous or next buttons in my single image pages, it goes to the next or previous image in the album and not in the search results. Thinking about it, that’s how I would expect it to work, but it would be nice if the next/previous buttons in this case functioned on the search results.

Is there a way to do that?

Thanks for a great product!

Paul

I don’t think it works as you’re wanting it to.
when you click on an image and go to the large image, you’ll still be taken to the image’s originating album

But if you want the results to appear as one “gallery” rather than broken up into album sections, give this a try:
In Backlight Settings > Publisher > Search Scope, try setting that to “Only Search for Photos”
that at least will put all results in one grid. But you’ll get the same results as above when you click on the thumbnails.

Also, your search template really should use the slideshow, rather than single-image HTML pages. In which case, you will be able to navigate the results as an album, and then use the permalinks to jump into the actual album containing that image.

Single-image pages navigate as you’ve observed because they completely live within their respective album. That’s the point of them.

Thanks for that suggestion.

Is there a way (other than writing some CSS, which is easy enough) to get rid of the social media icons that come up above the permalink icon?

no

I should make a note to add an option for that at some point …
