Site update advice - galleries, album sets and albums

I want to do some restructuring on my site and am seeking advice on the best way to do this.
Currently, I have a Menu Item labeled “Galleries” that takes a visitor to the Galleries page. This page has quite a number of albums contained within it. I want to slim this down.
What I’d like to do, is have only a select few albums appear on the galleries page. I then want to give the user the ability to go to an “Additional Work” page, to see additional albums. What is the best way to set this up? I currently have only the one “Galleries” top level gallery that is setup by default. Do I need to use Album sets for this? I am struggling with them.

You could categorize your albums using album sets. That would probably be the easiest way to go.
How you go about doing it depends on how you’re adding your albums. Are you using Lightroom Publisher or Backlight Publisher to upload albums?
Either way, you could then move albums into sets.

Hi Rod,
Yes, I am using LR to publish albums. So I create new Album Sets in LR, then move the individual albums into them. Correct? IF so, then how will that appear on the site when I go to Galleries?

What I am thinking is creating an “Additional Work” Album set and move all my secondary albums under that. Leave the remainder albums as primary albums, and they will still be located under top-level Galleries.

So a user clicks on Galleries menu item, is taken to the galleries page where they will see my primary albums, plus another item labeled “Additional Work”. They can then click on that see see more.

That will work great. Create the new album set in Lightroom Publisher. It will appear on your Galleries page.
In Lightroom Publisher, just drag and drop albums into the new album set.

In Backlight Publisher, click on Albums then on the new album set you just populated with albums. There you can choose a cover image for the album set’s thumbnail.
