This feels like a basic question but I can’t find it in the documentation or on the forum.
I did come across a question asking for a diagram that showed what the various settings change - but the answer was pretty much “change something and see what happens”.
Is a ‘pallet’ just an area on the screen?
Basically, yes.
There are four pallet areas:
Top Pallet, which has its own section in the Page template designer.
Side Pallets, settings for which are found in the Layout and Content Area sections of the Page template.
Bottom Pallet, settings in the Footer section of the Page template.
The Top pallet is at the top of the page. It can contain a title, a logo (via phplugins), and is an option for navigation placement.
The Top Pallet can be set to appear always or only at certain break-points(when the site goes into mobile configuration).
Buttons for Cart and Client Response will always appear in this area
Side Pallets are like Sidebars in WordPress. There are two available. They can be placed left, right, or you can split them. They appear depending on the break point set. You can place text or html in them. Mobile navigation will appear in a Side Pallet.
Bottom Pallet is basically the footer.
In addition to the settings in the Page template, you can add text or html in the Left and Right pallet sections in the Page Copy area of a Page (Designer>Pages) and the Template Copy areas of an Album Set templates, and Album Templates.
You can also add text and html in the Page Content area of Albums and Album Sets.
