Hello,
My web host has upgraded to PHP V8.4.
I am on V7.4 currently and they want a charge for me to keep it ion V7.4.
Will LR Publisher V8.0.2 (current version) work with PHP V8.4?
Thank you,
Jack

Hi @jackm, the PHP dependency is in the Backlight code on the server itself, rather than the LR Plugin.
We support the latest PHP version available during the lifetime of our Backlight version. Since Backlight 6 is current, that means it currently supports PHP up to version 8.4. Backlight 6 will also support PHP 8.5, which is coming out later this year.
Hello Ben,
It has been a while since we communicated.
I hope all is well with you.
I upgraded my host (GoDaddy) PHP version to 8.4 from 7.4.
My site gave me this error.
“Unable to find the PDO module. Backlight 2 requires the PDO, SQLite and XLM modules. Make sure that these modules are installed and enabled.”
I do not know what that means and never got that error.
I went back to PHP 8.3 on my host, to see what would happen, and my website works again. It is on PHP 8.3 right now.
Any suggestions?
Thanks again,
Jack
You’ll probably need to contact GoDaddy and ask them to turn those modules on.
Rod,
Thanks for the input. Didn’t know how that is managed.
I can enable those modules myself on the GoDaddy site. In the PHP 8.4 load, many modules were not turned on compared to 8.3 (which worked on my site). I enabled the 8.4 modules to match the 8.3 configuration and all works now.
Thanks again for your help.
Jack
