With Backlight 5 is there an update to Publisher?

Yes, there is an updated Lr Publisher available. In Backlight’s admin menu, go to Admin => Backlight Modules. At the top of the page, click the link “Download Lightroom Publisher Plugin”.

Will updating LR publisher from 6.0 to 7.0 break anything? I’m scared!

For instance, will it render existing galleries un-edittable, or worse inaccessible?

Is it even necessary for me to upgrade publisher to 7.0, and what won’t work with BL5 if I don’t?

If you’re using Lightroom to publish your albums then you should update. It won’t break anything and some things may not work if you don’t. For example, new album features in BL5 might not work. You may even see error warnings.

Thx Rod. Is updating the LR publisher any different than installing? I couldn’t find instructions specific to upgrading, only installing Albums and Album Sets | Backlight
